the Uchuu Deka superhero TV programmes (Uchuu Deka
Gyaban/Space Sheriff Gavan, &c). (-_-;) Incidentally, the
Uchuu Deka heroines' fight scenes evidently sometimes
involved panchira.)

3.1  1ST IMPRESSION

     [Ramble ON]

     This Soul Calibur 2 Cassandra FAQ is written from
scratch, and isn't based on my Soul Calibur 1 Sophitia
FAQ, which IMO became too inflexible and monolithic.

     As of 2001.12.09, the female members of the ten
known SC2 default chara are Cassandra, Ivy, Taki, Talim,
and Xianghua. But I'll not be surprised that SC2 has
hidden or time-release chara, and they include Seung
Mina and Sophitia.

     About Nemea, the namesake of Cassandra's shield.
     Nemea was a valley between the cities Kleonai and
Phlius. Killing the Lion of Nemea that terrorised the
citizens of Kleonai and Phlius was the first of
Heracles's (Roman "Hercules", USAF "C-130") 12 Labours
assigned by King Eurystheus of Tiryns. The Lion was a
male offspring of Echidna the serpent-woman and Typhon
the serpent-dragon under Mount Etna.
     When Heracles tracked and found the Lion, his
arrows and club were ineffective against it. (This was
before he and Iolaus killed the Hydra and acquired
poisoned arrows.) He eventually chased the Lion into a
cave with two openings, closed one opening, and
strangled the Lion. He skinned the Lion with its claws
(remember its skin is invulnerable to his conventional
weapons), and wore its hide as his armour and its head
as his helmet.
     Later, Zeus uploaded the Lion to the night sky as
the constellation Leo.
     (FYI, back in high school, I actually read Homer's
The Iliad and The Odyssey. Between the two, my favourite
female chara are Cassandra and Nausicaa, and my
favourite male chara are Diomedes, Odysseus, and
Sthenelus.)

     Like Sophitia in Soul Edge, and unlike the other
chara in Soul Edge and Soul Calibur, Cassandra doesn't
have years (or centuries) of combat experience or
training. Blessed by the gods, she just moves and fights
naturally (or supernaturally). Sounds like a
Rentaheroine, IMO.

     Cassandra's voice actress, Takagi Reiko's recent works
include the TV anime Hikaru no Go (as Waya Yoshitaka) and
Love Hina (as Kaolla Su). I selectively watched a few
episodes of Love Hina, including #2 and #24, only because
Shinobu chan's mother's voice actress is Tsuru Hiromi sama.
     For comparison, in SE and SC1, Sophitia's voice actress
is Neya Michiko.
