ODYSSEUS THE TRAVELS OF HERITIAS SYNOPSIS, SOLUTION KEYS Space: talk, pick up an object, skip a dialogue Return: use an object you are holding F1: inventory F2: put an object in your sack F3: draw/sheath your sword Escape: skip the pre-calculated animation/go to main menu Mission I EPISODE 1: THE RUINS OF TROY (4 sets) - Place: The Ruins of Troy - Primary Objectives: Get information about Ulysses, meet Nathos, find Mikis, meet Koppeas and escape with him. - Sneak into the camp (grab a carpet and follow the slave without him noticing you). - Once inside the camp, enter the house located in the center, talk to three characters, then exit. - Walk around the house to give Merope the time to come out. - Go back into the house so that Nathos can give you the pass, then go out again. - Now that you have the pass, exit the camp via the guarded gate. - Once outside, go to the right and find the blacksmith and speak to him. At the end of the conversation, Mikis will show up. - Talk to Mikis. At the end of the conversation, he will leave. Follow him and you'll be knocked unconscious. - When you come to, go see Mikis' lifeless body. A dialogue should appear, then go back into Nathos' house. - Accused of killing Mikis, you will be arrested. - Once in prison, go speak to your fellow prisoner. Then go to the basket. Turn your back on the basket to take it off the hook, then cut the rope that binds you with the hook. - Now go to the hole in the ceiling and climb out onto the roof. - Once on the roof, grab a stone and throw it at the guard to knock him out. - Free Koppeas (the other prisoner), then go back into Nathos' house. - Inside the house, take the soldier's clothes to disguise yourself, then exit the camp via the guarded gate followed by Koppeas - End: Escape to the Island of Aeolus. EPISODE 2: THE TEMPLE OF AEOLUS (3 sets) - Place: The Temple of Aeolus - Primary Objectives: Get information about Hakeus, find the flying ship. - Once Koppeas has left, enter the house to speak with Hakeus. - Drink the potion. - Once Hakeus is dead, take the diamond sitting on the table and go to the temple. - On your way, pick up petals under a tree, then go into the temple. - Pass through the columns. When you get to the banners, offer your petals to the Gods. A model will then appear on the other side of the columns. - Take all the statues in the model. - Take the six mosaics marked with the name of a wind that you'll find on the temple walls to your left and right. - Go to the door with the jets of vapor and place one of the mosaics marked with the name of a wind at the base of each jet. There will be a lighting effect when you cover a jet with the right mosaic. - Once you've placed the six mosaics, stand before the door. The jets will disappear. Pass through the door and enter the next room. - Place the statue that leads to the stranger on the pedestal in the middle of the room. A door will open. Pick the statue up again, then put the statue that leads to the Gods on the same pedestal and exit the temple through the door that has just opened (hurry up before the door closes again). - End: Heritias flies off to the Land of the Lotus-eaters. Mission 2 EPISODE 1: THE LAND OF THE LOTUS-EATERS (4 sets) - Place: The Land of the Lotus-eaters, The Forest of Oblivion - Primary Objectives: Get a lotus so that you can question the Lotus-eaters. Find the Gorgon's head, cleanse your system of lotus. - Making the potion: gather lotus seeds in the pond, take a piece of cloth, fill a pot with sea water, in front of the machine (climb the stairs then turn left, after about 50 meters you should see the machine), place the cloth to the right of the machine, then the seeds, between them place the pot of sea water (on the fire), use the lever on the left to lower and raise the pot. Face the pot and press the 'space' key. Take the empty pot and go to the right to get the potion underneath the cloth. Drink the potion while moving way from the machine. - Once you've finished drinking the potion, circle counter clockwise within the city to make Krisis appear. - Run to catch him while keeping to the right, then speak to him two times about the lotus. - In the forest, go straight then follow the owl that will lead you to Athena. - Go to her to get a shield, then back track on your steps. - Once again, follow the owl two times, then turn left underneath the brambles to get to the Gorgon Palace. - Fighting the Gorgon: Lean your shield against a column or statue. Lure the Gorgon to the shield by banging on the shield with your sword or using a stone tap the column against which it is leaning. Stay hidden until the Gorgon is turned to stone by staring at the shield. Hurry up and decapitate the Gorgon before she regains consciousness. (Hint: be patient) - Once decapitated, take the Gorgon's head and put it on the scales, on the higher side. The scales will tip to a level position, the well will empty. Jump into the empty well. - You will find yourself standing on the beach before Krisis. - End: Heritias continues on his way. He passes a beach on which a man gestures for help. This man is Koppeas. EPISODE 2: THE RETURN OF KOPPEAS (3 sets) - Place: The Island Of The Cyclops - Primary Objectives: Escape from the Island of the Cyclops by killing them. - Speak with Koppeas then join him in his hut after having passed through the forest. - When speaking to him in the hut, choose the dialogue entitled "Koppeas" to make him drink. The other dialogue will lead you to Game Over. - Now you must slay the Cyclops. There are two ways: - Either you go through the hut to climb the hill located behind it and use the Gorgon's head to turn the Cyclops into stone when he looks at you.... - or you take the bag to the right of Koppeas and place it on the statue, then you take the lotus seeds and put them in the bag on the statue. Then take the statue and exit the hut. - Once the Cyclops is dead, speak to Koppeas, then let him be eaten by another Cyclops. - Take a beam, either to the left or behind the hut and head over to the giant crossbow. Be careful that the second Cyclops doesn't eat you. - Place the beam on the crossbow as well as the rope located to the left of the bow. Draw the rope and wait for the second Cyclops to look in your direction, then fire the crossbow to kill him. - Return to the flying ship. - End: Heritias continues on his way. EPISODE 3: THE PALACE OF TESTS (3 sets) - Place: The Palace of Tests - Primary Objectives: Survive Poseidon's tests. - In the first room: observe the trident's cycle before crossing the room. - In the second room: go to the first statue and listen to its question. Then position yourself on the picture of Theseus which is the right answer. This will disappear and you can go listen to the second statue's question, to which the answer is "Hera." The answer to the third statue's question is "Man." - In the third room: speak to the man in the tent by choosing the first dialogue. When he transforms, turn him to stone with the Gorgon's head. - End: Poseidon orders Merope, his right hand man, to go to Lamos, home of the Laestrygonians, to prepare a trap for Heritias. Then, he finds the hero at the palace exit. As promised, Poseidon reveals that Ulysses is being held prisoner by the Laestrygonian man-eaters. Mission 3 EPISODE 1: THE LAESTRYGONIANS (3 sets ) - Place: The port of Lamos - Primary Objective: Sneak into the Laestrygonian Palace then escape. - Speak with the four merchants who address you upon your arrival in the port. - Find Boros, the merchant dressed in white, who has returned to his tent located on the left. - Speak with him after making him come out of his tent and accept his offer to get you into the Laestrygonian Palace. - Once you are on top, go to the bridge. Be careful not to let any of the Laestrygonians see you. To cross the bridge, there are two possibilities: - Either hide behind the fence and wait until the two Laestrygonians have crossed... - or wait until they have turned back towards the Palace and follow them at a distance. - On the other side of the bridge, head towards the footbridge on the right so that the Laestrygonian stationed in front of the palace leave. Enter the palace. - Once inside, follow the corridor. You'll come to a first sleeping Laestrygonian. - Turn right twice, staying as close to the wall a you can so as not to knock against any of the weapons (which will wake the Laestrygonians), and take the plank. - Return to the first Laestrygonian, and go up to the left just before the corridor. Keep going all the way to the hole (right after the drop of water) and put the plank over the hole to make a bridge. - Hide in the crack by the drop of water. Once the second Laestrygonian has left, cross the hole by walking across the plank, and go to the Laestrygonian below. - Turn left, once to you to this one and head towards the slaves. - Talk to the slaves and free one. - Once you've been taken prisoner, there are two ways to escape: - Out the kitchen: Put the ham in front of the door, go into the next room to get the Laestrygonian's attention and knock him out with the ham. Then take the wood basket, go back into the other room, head towards the hole, then use the wood basket to slide to freedom. - Off the Balcony: Take the skull with the horns as well as the rope. Attach the rope to the skull, go to the balcony and throw it all off... - Once you've escaped, go back to see Boros to get back down to business. - Go to the ladder to climb up the tower. - Crush the horn, then return to the flying ship. - End: Heritias has a dream. His wife tells him to go see Circe. EPISODE 2: MEETING CIRCE (2 sets) - Place: The Island of Circe - Primary Objective: Save Circe - Enter the house and go speak with Circe. - Take the potion she offers you. - Once you have been turned into a pig, go down the stairs and then come back up again. - Listen to Merope and Circe talk. - When Merope leaves, go talk to Circe. Watch out because Merope wants to kill you, that's why he kills all pigs. - To get to Circe's laboratory, you must go out and climb to the highest point of the roof (by turning clockwise) so as to find an open skylight. - Go into the laboratory and gnaw the rope holding a bag so that the bag falls onto the plank. - Then take the cushion and go down to where the plank has dropped (between Circe and the bottom of the stairs that lead to the laboratory). Put the cushion there. - Go back to the laboratory and gnaw through the other ropes. - Get the flask and give it to Circe. To reward you, she will change you back to your true appearance, as well as give you the recipe for libations and a trident. - Go back to the flying ship. - End: Heritias flies to Hell. Merope is condemned to Tartarus. Mission 4 EPISODE 1: WELCOME TO HELL (2 sets) - Place: Hell - Primary Objective: Judgment of Heritias (weighing the morality of his acts) - Enter the cave. - Once in front of the souls, walk down the stairs as far as you can go. Ignore what the souls say. - Wait for Koppeas to call you. - Speak with him, give him the precious stone and follow him. - Go to Charon (the man standing on the boat) and give him all your objects, except for the trident and the libation recipe. - On the other side of the River Styx, proceed as quickly as you can to the Judges Chambers. - Once you have been judged, go to the ramp that has descended - If you have been condemned to the Elysian Fields or the Asphodel Fields, go directly to the appropriate episode (either 2 or 4). - If you're condemned to Tartarus, your first punishment is to relive the murder of Mikis from his point of view. - To escape this cycle, go to the statue and jump into the void. Heritias will now go to where you have fallen. Quickly push him off the edge. You can now to episode 3. - End: Heritias' worth has been judged. EPISODE 2: THE ELYSIAN FIELDS (1 set) - Place: Hell - Primary Objective: Find the flour and the wine for the libation to the dead. - The flour: Go to the oven and speak to the girl about offerings. She will ask you to go give bread to the souls near the pond in exchange for flour. Agree to do it. Take a loaf of bread on the right and give it to any soul you see near the pond, then come back and get the flour. - The wine: Go to the vineyards off to the left without letting the minions see you and pick up the goatskin of wine. - Go to the river, play the flute to summon Charon and either go to the Tartarus episode 3 (for other ingredients) or to the Asphodel Fields episode 4 (for the libation) - End: Heritias goes to Tartarus or to the Asphodel Fields. EPISODE 3: TARTARUS (1 set) - Place: Hell - Primary Objective: Gather honey, blood and water in Tartarus. - Go to Tantalus (the one lying on the floor) and take the pot of honey, an empty container (for the water) as well as the empty goatskin (for the blood). - Go to Prometheus (the one whose intestines are being eaten by an eagle). Take a stone and throw it at the eagle to make it fly away, then go speak with Prometheus. To thank you, he will offer you his blood. Fill the empty goatskin with his blood. - Now go see the Danaë (the women filling the barrel of water). While they have their backs turned, fill your container with water. - Go to the river, play the flute to summon Charon and either go to the Elysian Fields episode 2 (for other ingredients) or to the Asphodel Fields episode 4 (for the libation) - End: Heritias summons Charon with the flute and goes to the Asphodel Fields. EPISODE 4: ASPHODEL FIELDS (1 set) - Place: Hell - Primary Objective: Prepare the libation for the dead and meet Tiresias - If you don't have all the ingredients, go to the river, play the flute to summon Charon and either go to the Elysian Fields episode 2 (for wine and flour) or to the Tartarus episode 3 (for honey, blood, and water) - If you have all the ingredients, go to the rock next to the river. - First put the honey, wine, water and then the flour on the rock. Heritias will now recite the incantation. - Now put down the blood. - Push the souls away with the trident. - Wait for Tiresias to appear, talk to him, let him transform the offering into three crystals. - Take the three crystals and go to the biggest rock you can find. - Climb it, and find the spot with the three red marks. You must put the three crystals in the crevices below these three marks to activate a new crystal on the rock. - Take this new crystal. - End: Heritias leaves Hell and arrives in a sort of no man's land. EPISODE 5: FINAL COMBAT (2 sets) - Place: Hell - Primary objective: Victory over Poseidon - Go to the hill. - To fight Zeus, You have the choice between five different weapons. You must choose three in a specific order to win. (the order of choice is also the order of use). - When you use a weapon: - If Poseidon falls to one knee, it means that you've put the weapon in the right place. - If Poseidon bangs the ground with his trident, it means that it's the right weapon but that you've put in the wrong place. - If Poseidon attacks with his trident pointing at you, it means that you've chosen the wrong weapon. - End: Heritias is victorious.
