THE AIM OF THE GAME
The evil Clown Beleseblob has stopped the
magical clock that brings laughter and joy to the amusement park. He has twisted
it in to a dark shadow of its former self where his henchmen scare the life out
of everybody that comes to visit! You must defeat the Clown so that you may
start the clock and drive the nightmare away.
Collect stars through solving problems and
seeing to it that the Clown’s henchmen disappear, especially those that have
frightened you. When you have collected enough stars, and preferable gotten rid
of the horror points you’ve suffered (visualized through Gast’s facial
expression in the top right corner), you should try to succeed the Final Ride
and then confront the Clown.
You can start the Final Ride as soon as you
have collected three stars, but remember that you’ll lose a star every time you
collide with an obstacle, and the game is over when you are out of stars, so it
may be wise to collect more stars before giving the Final Ride a try. You’ll
also need a number of stars to defeat the Clown.
The henchmen that still haunt the park when
you enter the Final Ride, will appear in it and make it more difficult for you
to succeed, so you might want to consider making them all disappear before
entering the Final Ride.
TASKS WITH SEVERAL SOLUTIONS
You cannot succeed with solving all tasks
that exist in the game in one session, since the result of certain events makes
some tasks impossible to solve. Obviously this does not mean that you cannot
complete the game, it only makes the next game you play from start
different.
CONTROLLING GAST
Use the mouse to control Gast. Left click to
move in direction of cursor, hold the left mouse button to move continously in
direction of the cursor. Hold the shift key while left clicking to move faster.
The cursor becomes a hand when you can pick up or interact with something,
provided you are close enough to it. Left click to add an item to inventory or
interact with an object. Gast can both eat and drink…
THE FOLLOWERS
Many of the Clown’s henchmen may start to
follow you. Sometimes they’ll offer to do that by
themselves and sometimes you need to fulfil some of their wishes in order to
make them follow you. You can only have one follower at a time, and you can ask
a follower to wait for you by pressing the backspace key. If you want to make a
character to follow you again you simply just go near it and it’ll start to
follow you again provided you still meet the requirement the character has in
order to follow you. Try bringing the Clown’s henchmen together, or taking them
to specific places in the game, it may have very interesting
consequences.
THE THOUGHT BUBBLES
Sometimes you’ll get a small thought bubble
above your head. The illustration in the bubble will give you a lead to which
items or characters you can use in order to interact with the object the cursor
currently points at.
HINT! The though bubble shows only a
selection of the items or characters that can be used, feel free to try other
combinations, you never know what might happen.
THE INVENTORY
Right click to display inventory. The
inventory can hold up to six items. Left click on an item in the inventory to
make that item the cursor. Move item cursor over objects in the scene. When an
object glitters, left click to interact with the object. If you left click when
no object glitter, you’ll drop the item on the ground beside you.
LOAD AND SAVE GAMES
Right click to display inventory. Left click
on the small disc icon to display the Save Game menu. Left click a player slot
to save the game, a screenshot is made of the instance you saved the game. If
you left click in a slot where you have already saved a game, you’ll overwrite
that saved game. In order to load a previously saved game you need to right
click to display the inventory, then left click on the small door icon. Choose
load game from the main menu and then left click the save game slot you want to
load.
Scene 1 : The Gateway
- Pull the green (left) lever to activate
the tentacle platform.
- Beware of tentacles, you will suffer
scare points on collision.
- Some characters (see character
descriptions), can be damaged by the tentacles.
- Pull the green (right) lever to
deactivate the tentacle platform and squash the tentacles. You are awarded 1 star.
- Pick up the slime item produced
after squashing the tentacles.
- Take the key item located at the
bottom right section of the scene.
- The Flea character will scare you, tell
you his quest and start to follow you. See Flea character description.
You suffer scare points.
- Go your left to get to Scene 22, go your
right to get to Scene 16, go towards camera to get to Scene 11.
Scene 2 : The Pumpkinfield
- The Pumpkin will scare you. You suffer scare points.
- The Scarecrow character will scare you
and tell you his quest. See Scarecrow character description. You suffer scare points.
- If you bring the Crow character here, he
is scared by the Scarecrow and produces the feathers item as he flee to
his nest on the roof.
- Bring the Rat character here to release
the Scarecrow from his ropes. You are awarded
1 star.
- Bring the Ghost character here to merge
with the Scarecrow character, they both go out-of-game. You are awarded 2 stars. Your scare points are
decreased by 22.
- Use branch on fire item on the
Scarecrow character to destroy him. You are
awarded 1 star. Your scare points are decreased by 11.
- Use the feather item on the
Scarecrow character to tickle him.
- Plant the seed item at the pile of
earth close to the Scarecrow character to grow a beanstalk.
- Click the beanstalk to climb it and gain
access to the Dreamland, Scene 15.
- Use the plant growth item on the
beanstalk once it is grown, to grow another beanstalk on top of the first.
Enables access to the dreamland Extended Dreamland Bonus level.
- Use the plant poison item on the
beanstalk to destroy it.
Scene 3 : The Ravenous Plant
- The Ravenous Plant character will scare
you and tell you his quest. See Ravenous Plant character description.
You suffer scare points.
- Pick up the cherry item from the
bush.
- Use the cherry item on the Plant
character to feed him.
- Pick up seed item spit out by
Plant character after he has eaten the cherry.
- Use the apple item on the Plant
character to feed him.
- Pick up seed item spit out by
Plant character after he has eaten the apple.
- Use the worm item on the Plant
character to feed him.
- Use the cheese item on the Plant
character to feed him.
- Use the fish item on the Plant
character to feed him.
- Use the flea wings item on the
Plant character to feed him.
- Bring the Dark Tinkerbell, Rat or Bat
characters here and the Ravenous Plant will eat them. (Characters that die
give stars, se character spec.)
- If the Ravenous Plant eats the Flea
character, the flea wings item is produced. Pick up the flea
wings item.
- If the Ravenous Plant eats the Bat
character, the bat wings item is produced. Pick up the bat wings
item.
- Use the plant poison item on the
Ravenous Plant to kill him (plant dies even if he is sleeping). You are awarded 1 star. Your scare points are decreased
by 11.
- Use the plant fertilizer item on
the Plant character to feed him (counts as being fed twice).
- Use the feathers item on the Plant
character to produce slime item. Pick up slime item.
- If the Ravenous Plant has been fed three
things, he’ll go to sleep. You are awarded 1
star.
- Plant the seed item at the pile of
earth to the left in the scene to grow a beanstalk.
- Click the beanstalk to climb it and gain
access to the Dreamland, Scene 15.
- Use the plant growth item on the
beanstalk once it is grown, to grow another beanstalk on top of the first.
Enables access to the dreamland Extended Dreamland Bonus level.
- Use the plant poison item on the
beanstalk to destroy it.
Scene 4 : The Appleoak
- The Dark Tinkerbell character will scare
you and tell you her quest. See Dark Tinkerbell character description.
You suffer scare points.
- Beware of roots to the right of the oak,
you will suffer scare points on collision.
- Some characters (see character
descriptions), can be damaged by the roots.
- Use the lit branch item on the
roots to destroy them. You are awarded 1
star.
- Pick up the apple item.
- Plant the seed item at the pile of
earth to the right close to the camera in the scene to grow a
beanstalk.
- Click the beanstalk to climb it and gain
access to the Dreamland, Scene 15.
- Use the plant growth item on the
beanstalk once it is grown, to grow another beanstalk on top of the first.
Enables access to the dreamland Extended Dreamland Bonus level.
- Use the plant poison item on the
beanstalk to destroy it.
Scene 5 : The Final Ride Entry
- Click on the board without having placed
3 stars at the board, to play VO telling you that you need to place 3 stars at
the wooden board to start the final ride.
- Click on the lever without having placed
3 stars at the board, to play VO telling you that you need to place 3 stars at
the wooden board to start the final ride.
- If you have a star you can click on the
wooden board to place it there.
- Place three stars at the wooden board to
activate the lever.
- Pull lever to activate the Final
Ride.
- Sit down in the cart.
- Click on Final Ride entry to start the
ride.
Scene 6 : The Pound
- Beware of the octopus tentacle emerging
from the water, you will suffer scare points on collision.
- Some characters (see character
descriptions), can be damaged by the tentacle.
- Use branch item on water
lily item in water to reach it and pick it up.
- If you use the lit branch item on
water lily item, the water lily item will be destroyed and the
lit branch item will be turned into a branch item.
- Use the glass jar item on the
water to make it a glass jar with water item.
- Use the emerald item in the
octopus statue’s eye socket to enable the elevator down to the lab. You are awarded 1 star.
- Click on the door in the pillar beneath
the octopus statue to ride elevator down to Scene 7.
Scenes 7 : The Lab
- Use the glass jar item on the tap
to place it beneath it.
- Activate the insect switch by clicking on
it, making it green and pull the lever on the left to produce a glass jar
with insect growth item.
- Activate the insect and skull switches by
clicking on them, making them green and pull the lever on the left to produce
a glass jar with insect poison item.
- Activate the leaf switch by clicking on
it, making it green and pull the lever on the left to produce a glass jar
with plant growth item.
- Activate the plant and skull switches by
clicking on them, making them green and pull the lever on the left to produce
a glass jar with plant poison item.
- Ride elevator up to Scene 6.
Scene 8 : The Carousel
- Use the silver key item on the
lock to activate the lever.
- Pull the lever to start the
carousel.
- Take star that is produced after the
carousel has stopped. You are awarded 1
star.
- Go back towards camera to get to Scene
21.
Scene 9 : The Graveyard
- The Raven character will scare you and
tell you his quest. See Raven character description. You suffer scare points.
- Use the branch item on any of the
lanterns to make it a lit branch item.
- Click on crypt door to enter Scene
10.
Scene 10 : The Crypt
- The Ghost character will scare you and
tell you his quest. See Ghost character description. You suffer scare points.
- Use the shiny key item on the lock beside
the Ghost character to release the Ghost character, he’ll start following you.
You are awarded 1 star.
- Use the lit branch item on the
torchholder on the wall to light up the crypt. You are awarded 1 star.
Scene 11 : Hill pathway
- Beware of the falling rocks, you will
suffer scare points on collision.
- Some characters (see character
descriptions), can be damaged by the falling rocks.
- Beware of going to close to the hill’s
edge as you will fall down, suffer scare points.
- Look at road sign for help with
orientation.
Scene 12 : The Bat cave
- The Bat character will scare you and tell
you his quest. See Bat character description. You suffer scare points.
- Pick up the shiny emerald
item.
- At the far left end of the cave is a
backdoor entry to Scene 46.
- The Cat character won’t go out in the
park. He‘ll wait for you here.
Scene 13 : The Flea’s house
- Click on the door to the little house to
take a peek inside.
- Pick up the garlic item.
- Beware of going to close to the hill’s
edge as you will fall down to Scene 61 and suffer scare points.
- Bring the Flea character here to fulfill
his quest. See Flea character description.
Scene 14 : The Haunted House Exterior
- Beware of the falling rocks, you will
suffer scare points on collision.
- Some characters (see character
descriptions), can be damaged by the falling rocks.
- Beware of going to close to the hill’s
edge as you will fall down and suffer scare points.
- Click on the door to enter the haunted
house.
Scene 15 : The Dreamland
- Pick up star. You are awarded 1 star.
- If you used the plant growth item
at the base of the beanstalk, there is an extension of the beanstalk (see
glittering part) that leads to the Extended Dreamland Bonus level.
Scene 16 : Path
- Look at road sign for help with
orientation.
- Go beneath the falling drop of water to
catch it. Your scare points are
decreased.
- Beware of the falling branch, you will
suffer scare points on collision.
- Some characters (see character
descriptions), can be damaged by the falling branch.
- Bats fly around.
Scene 17 : Path
- Look at road sign for help with

- Bats fly around the second time you enter
the scene.

your own twisted reflections in the mirrors if going close enough.
- Bring the Dark Tinkerbell character here
and she will scream provided you have suffered scare points from the mirrors.
Her scream will shatter the mirrors. Your
scare points are decreased.
Scene 38 : The Piano Room
- Play the piano and listen until the tune
ends. Your scare points are
decreased. You are awarded 1 star.
Scene 39 : Windows Room

- Use the shiny key item on the door
to unlock it.

Spider character to destroy it. You are
awarded 1 star.
- Bring the Bat and/or Flea character to
the Spider character and she will eat them (characters that die award stars,

you may walk past her.
Scene 47 : The Aqua Room
- Pull lever to open glass an empty the
water tank. (This also empties the fish tank in scene 29). This the makes this
scene into scene 62.
Scene 48 : The Observatory
- View the dark sky by clicking on
telescope.
- Get stars by adjusting a panel on the
telescope according to the star map viewable downstairs.
- 360 degrees, 270 degrees. Top, bottom,
top, bottom, bottom. You are awarded 1
star.
- 45 degrees, 180 degrees. Top, bottom,
bottom, bottom, top. You are awarded 1
star.
- 360 degrees, 90 degrees. Top, bottom,

Scene 49 : The Roof
- Beware of the flash of lightning, you
will suffer scare points on collision.

something from you it will be found in his nest here.

- Watch introduction movie. Skip intro
movie by pressing spacebar.
Scene 61 : Landing scene.
- Go beneath the falling drop of water to
catch it. Your scare points are

Scene 62 : Aquarium Krashed Room
Scene 63 : Extended dreamland
- Take star on cloud 1. You are awarded 1 star.
- Ride cloud.
- Take the star on cloud 2. You are awarded 1 star.
- Take the bonus star from the sky.
You are awarded 1 star.
Scene 90 : The Final Ride
- If Gast has fullfill a characters quest
or destroyed it, the characters represenation in the final ride do not
appears.
- Depending on how scared Gast are, the
time he has to ride the Final Ride vary:
- If Gast “scarepoint is 0”, the final
ride time is 105 sec.
- If Gast “scarepoint is 1-19”, the final
ride time is 90 sec.
- If Gast “scarepoint is 20-39”, the
final ride time is 75 sec.
- If Gast “scarepoint is 40-59”, the
final ride time is 65 sec.
- If Gast “scarepoint is 60-79”, the
final ride time is 55 sec.
- If Gast “scarepoint is 80-99”, the
final ride time is 45 sec.
- Dodge flares and characters.
- If you crash into a flare or character
you lose a star. You loose 1
star.
- If you lose all stars you lose the
game.
Scene 91 : The Final Ride finish arrival
- Take stars. You are awarded up to 2 stars.
- Enter the door to The Clock Work Clown
Room.
Scene 92 : The Clock Work Clown Room
- Throw stars at the Clown when he appears
to decrease his energy level visualized through meter.
- If you hit him you make him loose
energy.
- When the Clown has lost his energy, you
win the game.
- If you lose all stars you lose the
game.
Scene 93 : Outro
- Watch outro movie. Skip movie by pressing
spacebar.
The Henchmen Guard Room (prior Clown
confrontation)
- Throw stars at the Henchmen when they
appear to get rid of them before they reach you. The Henchman that will appear
here are the ones that you didn’t manage to get rid of during game play. If
you have gotten rid of all Henchmen during game play, you go directly to face
the Clown.
- When you have hit the last Henchman you
will enter the Clock Work Clown Room to confront the clown.
The Rat
Character
Rat encounters Flea
character: Rat gets flea bitten and flea disappears
in fur. You are awarded 1
star.
Use water item on Rat when Rat is
fleabitten: Rat is clean and can’t get flea bitten
again. Flea return to game. You are awarded 1
star.
Rat is flea bitten and come close to the
fish tank or close the broken fence of the pound: Rat jumps in water, gets eaten and is out of game. Even the
flea is out of game then. You are awarded 2
stars.
Use cheese item on
rat: Rat will follow you, as long as the follower
role is not occupied by an other character.
Gast has the cheese item in the
inventory: Rat will follow you.
Use the worm, apple,
seed, cherry or fish items on the Rat: The Rat eats this stuff.
Use the garlic item on
rat: Rat is now a threat to the Bat
character.
Rat encounter Ravenous Plant
character: Rat gets eaten by the Plant and
disappears. You are awarded 1
star.
Rat encounter Cat
character: Rat gets eaten by the Cat and disappears.
You are awarded 1 star.
Character may get damaged and die by
tentacles, falling stones, guillotine, axes, etc.
On Rat die:
You are awarded 1 star. Rat character is represented by a ghost. If flea
bitten, the flea appears at the rat’s location. Use the black rose item
on a ghost character. You are awarded 1

The Cat
Character

is flea bitten: Cat runs away and return to the
lounge.

The Flea
Character

are awarded 1 star.
