Please Note The Following!

This game is quite complicated in that there are many artifacts to find and many places to go both in the Canyon environment (above ground) and in The Underworld environment. Without having the correct key (artifact) you will not be allowed through doors or warped into other areas where, of course, you will find other necessary artifacts. It is strongly recommended that you follow this walkthrough but allow yourself some time to explore new areas before following the walkthrough again, if necessary. To do this, SAVE after arriving correctly into a new area, and then start exploring and seeing if you can progress correctly on your own for awhile. If you get totally lost (easy to do in this game) restore to where you were before being lost, follow this walkthrough to the next step, then save again, and so on.

The game comes with a glossy 8 inch by 10 inch piece of paper with the following poetry on it. It also contains pictures of all the artifacts that can be collected. Some people have bought or traded for copies of this game that no longer contain this piece of paper. The poetry essentially provides the player with the object of the game. The following is that poetry:

The travellers roamed through infinite time
Recording their presence in symbols and rhyme
A message was left for those following to find
Enlightenment comes by seeking the signs

On mystic mountains the sun shines down
The travellers saw and they smiled
They built their temples underground
And scattered their signs for miles
The legends speak of a sacred cave
Of pharoahs and lenses and light
And of six golden signs through which wisdom shines
When placed in the pharoah's sight

INTRODUCTION

  1. The intro begins the experience into WELCOME TO THE FUTURE. Click the mouse to jump directly to the START SCREEN.
  2. The START SCREEN allows the user to access the HELP section and the RESTORE function of WTTF. The restore function will let the user start a saved game from the CD or one they have already created themselves. The user can also simply start the game. The game will default to the CHALLENGE mode.
  3. The HELP section gives access to the SPEED, TRAVEL, and TIPS Screens. These screens tell the user ways to speed up system performance, explains the navigation and gives extra general tips. The MODE button lets the user select CHALLENGE or EXPLORE mode. Challenge is the default mode and makes the user FIND all the keys while the Explore mode GIVES the user all the keys.
  4. Starting, the user must explore multiple different environments to find the hidden artifacts that are the keys to the experience. The user must collect six golden symbols and take them to the pharaoh's cave in order to enter The Voyage.

THE ADVENTURE BEGINS

  1. Go Forward 4 times, turn Right.
  2. At this location you will find the key to a vast underground. CLICK ON THE KEY and it will be added to the inventory bar at the top of the screen.
  3. Turn RIGHT twice
  4. CLICK ON THE KEY and it will also be added to the inventory bar at the top of the screen. It is the key to a nearby door.
  5. Turn RIGHT, then FORWARD, turn RIGHTagain, then FORWARDagain
  6. CLICK ON THE HILLSIDE and it opens because you have the matching key. The robot arm will offer you a golden symbol. CLICK ON THE GOLDEN SYMBOL to take it, and it will be added in the 1st position at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Go BACK, turn LEFT, then go FORWARD twice
  8. The trail splits here, but for this guided tour we will take the path on the left.
  9. On the left path, go FORWARD 3 TIMES, then turn LEFT
  10. Hidden here, just off the trail, is another golden symbol. CLICK ON THE GOLDEN SYMBOL, to gather more power, and it will be added in the 4th position at the bottom of the screen.
  11. Turn RIGHT, then FORWARD
  12. The path splits again: let's once again choose the trail on the left. Our adventure now takes us closer to the underworld.
  13. On the left trail, go FORWARD 4 TIMES, then turn LEFT, then FORWARD 4 TIMES again.
  14. THE UNDERWORLD ENTRANCE: You are about to enter the underworld section of Welcome To The Future. This walk-thru will guide you through in the quickest way possible (leaving out many things). There are lots of different ways to go, so if you stray from this course don't go too far! Click in the center of the screen now to move FORWARD.
  15. WELCOME TO THE UNDERWORLD! At this point your screen should change to show that you are underground. From this point on your movements will be totally animated! Move FORWARD again to open the rock wall .
  16. Go FORWARD TWICE into what looks like an elevator.
  17. One more move FORWARD causes a warping effect that will take you into the first level of The Underground!
  18. After the Warp, you will see a red wall in front of you. Move FORWARD to reach it. Then turn RIGHT to rotate. Then move FORWARD to reach the corner of the room.
  19. Here is your first Underworld Sign! CLICK ON THE ART in front of you to gather its power. You will see the symbol appear in your inventory bar across the top of the screen.
  20. Now turn to the RIGHT TWICE, so that you are facing the opposite direction, and move FORWARD 3 TIMES to get to the other side of the chamber.
  21. When you reach the other side of the chamber, you will be facing a door with the same symbol as the first Underground Sign you picked up. Because you have the that sign, the door opens. Without that first sign you would hear "Seek The Sign" (the sign is the key).
  22. Move FORWARD through the door and down a long blue passage. At the end move FORWARD again to enter the next room.
  23. Turn LEFT to face the catwalk.
  24. Move FORWARD to walk around the edge of the catwalk to the next sign.
  25. CLICK ON THE SIGN to obtain its power and take it. Note that your inventory's new sign appears at the top of the screen.
  26. Turn RIGHT TWICE to turn around. Go FORWARD, and then turn RIGHT again to bring you back to the door.
  27. Move FORWARD to go through the door, and then move FORWARD again to go through the first symbol door and back into the first chamber.
  28. Turn RIGHT to face an elevator. Move FORWARD once to approach the blue mirrored doors of the elevator. Move FORWARD again to enter the elevator.
  29. Once inside the elevator, turn either RIGHT OR LEFT TWICE in order to turn around to face the controls. Push the DOWN button to ride down to the yellow level.
  30. Move FORWARD to leave the elevator and move down a short passage. At the end of the passage is a mirrored door. Move FORWARD again here to enter a small connector room.
  31. The inside of this POD (Passage Orientation Device) has four identical doors leading to four different ways. It seems that the travelers before you decided to make things a little more difficult. These modules connect a vast array of tunnels through which you must navigate. Turn LEFT and then go FORWARD in order to move down the next passage.
  32. Move FORWARD into the next POD. Then turn LEFT and move FORWARD to climb the stairs to the control panel.
  33. The control panel buttons change the attributes of two different passageways somewhere in the underground. You will notice that a sign is required to operate them. You possess one of the signs in your inventory now. CLICK ON THE RIGHT BUTTON to activate the water bridge because you will need it later.
  34. Turn LEFT OR RIGHT ONCE in order to turn around 180 degrees. (NOTE: When you reach a dead end like this one, you flip 180 degrees on one turn, instead of 90 degrees like in the POD)
  35. Move FORWARD to go down the stairs to the POD door. Move FORWARD again to enter the POD and then turn RIGHT. Then move FORWARD 4 TIMES to move through 2 small red passages and their respective 2 PODS.
  36. Turn LEFT inside the POD, and then move FORWARD through a huge leather-looking passage. Then move FORWARD again into the next POD and turn LEFT.
  37. Go FORWARD to enter the water bridge. (The forcefield will lower and let you cross to the other side. Had you not activated the bridge with the right control panel button, the forcefield would not have lowered, thus preventing you from crossing.)
  38. You have found another sign. CLICK ON THE SIGN to collect it, then turn LEFT OR RIGHT ONCE to turn around 180 degrees. Move FORWARD to cross over the water again and then FORWARD again to enter the POD.
  39. Turn RIGHT in the POD, then move FORWARD TWICE to get back through the leather-looking passageway and into the next POD. Turn RIGHT, then move FORWARD 4 TIMES through the two small red hallways and into the POD.
  40. Turn LEFT inside the POD. Move FORWARD to the control panel. PUSH THE LEFT BUTTON on the control Panel to deactivate the forcefield. Turn LEFT OR RIGHT ONCE to turn around. Go FORWARD TWICE down the stairs and into the POD. Turn RIGHT, then go FORWARD 4 TIMES through the small red halls again and their PODS. Turn RIGHT inside the POD.
  41. Move FORWARD TWICE through the woods and into the next POD. Turn RIGHT, then move FORWARD TWICE to move down a strange passage of floating blue orbs and into the next POD.
  42. Turn LEFT inside the POD. Move FORWARD down a glowing blue passageway with a brick walkway. Move FORWARD into the next POD and then turn LEFT. Move FORWARD down another hallway similar to the last.
  43. Move FORWARD into the POD and turn LEFT. Move FORWARD and you will find yourself facing a purple art piece with a weird bug on it.
  44. CLICK ON THE ART and you will be warped into a new chamber full of crystal stalactites. Move FORWARD 4 TIMES to cross the chamber and enter the POD at the far end. You will pass by two walkways to the left, but keep going forward for now.
  45. Once inside the POD, turn RIGHT and then go FORWARD down a beehive-looking passageway to another sign at the end. CLICK ON THE SIGN to take it.
  46. At this point, you are fairly deep into the yellow level. But now you need to be back at the entrance, so CLICK ON THE PHARAOH in the bottom right corner of the screen (to avoid having to find your way back out).
  47. Move FORWARD to warp into the elevator chamber. Then move FORWARD again to the red wall and turn RIGHT. Move FORWARD to the first sign, turn RIGHT, and then go FORWARD TWICE into the elevator.
  48. Turn LEFT TWICE to face the elevator controls. PUSH THE DOWN BUTTON and ride to the orange level. Move FORWARD to exit the elevator. Move FORWARD again to enter the next POD.
  49. Turn RIGHT inside the POD, then moveFORWARD down a psychedelic hallway to an amulet. CLICK ON THE ART to receive the sign.
  50. Turn LEFT OR RIGHT ONCE, then move FORWARD TWICE back into the POD. Turn RIGHT, and then go FORWARD to fly the hang-glider down through ancient ruins. Move FORWARD into the next POD and turn LEFT. Then move FORWARD ONCE again to go through a wooden passageway and FORWARD again to go into the next POD.
  51. Turn LEFT in the POD. Move FORWARD down a blue glass hall, then go FORWARD into the next POD, and turn LEFT. Move FORWARD down a short stone hall and FORWARD into the POD.
  52. Turn LEFT in the POD. Move FORWARD to go down a long flame-filled passage (don't worry, they won't burn you). CLICK ON THE SIGN to gather its power.
  53. Turn LEFT OR RIGHT ONCE in order to turn around. Move FORWARD once through the flame hallway, then FORWARD once more to enter the POD. Turn RIGHT and move FORWARD to go through the wooden hallway, then FORWARD once more to enter the POD. Turn RIGHT and go FORWARD through the blue glass hallway and FORWARD again into the POD. Turn RIGHT and go FORWARD 4 TIMES through two wooden halls and their respective PODS. Turn RIGHT inside the POD and then go FORWARD down a blue and gold hall. Now move FORWARD again into the next POD.
  54. Turn LEFT and go FORWARD through the clouds and then FORWARD into the next POD. Turn RIGHT and go FORWARD through a blue reactor room. Move FORWARD through the mirrored doors at the end and find the red lens.
  55. CLICK ON THE RED LENS to take it. Then turn LEFT OR RIGHT ONCE to turn around. Go FORWARD TWICE to the next POD and then FORWARD TWICE again through the red reactor room and into the next POD.
  56. Turn RIGHT inside the POD, then move FORWARD TWICE down a blue-tiled hall into the next POD. Turn RIGHT and go FORWARD down a mirror-lined stone hallway to a symbol door.
  57. CLICK ON THE SYMBOL DOOR and it will shatter away, taking you out to a mountain vista and the blue lens. CLICK ON THE BLUE LENS to get it.
  58. Turn LEFT OR RIGHT ONCE to face a rock wall. Move FORWARD to open it and pass back down the stone hall. Move FORWARD again into the next POD. Turn LEFT inside the POD.
  59. Move FORWARD TWICE down the blue-tiled hall and into the next POD. Turn LEFT and move FORWARD through the red reactor room. Move FORWARD again to enter the next POD.
  60. Turn RIGHT and go FORWARD through the clouds. Move FORWARD into the next POD and then turn RIGHT. Go FORWARD 4 TIMES through 2 blue and gold halls and their respective PODS.
  61. In the POD, move FORWARD to move through a shark skin passage. Move FORWARD into the next POD and turn LEFT. Move FORWARD again and you will be facing a phonograph. CLICK ON THE PHONOGRAPH to hear this message: "Find the lenses. Collect the light in my tomb. Reach the key to THE VOYAGE."

    Turn LEFT OR RIGHT ONCE to turn around, and then move FORWARD TWICE into the POD. Turn RIGHT and go FORWARD TWICE through the shark room and into the next POD. Turn RIGHT inside the POD.

  62. Move FORWARD down a long stone hall with the genetic disk on the wall. Turn LEFT and go FORWARD TWICE into the next POD. In the POD, turn LEFT and go FORWARD TWICE through a small red hall and into the next POD.
  63. Move FORWARD in the POD and travel down a longer red hall to a red door. CLICK ON THE DOOR to open it and find the yellow lens. CLICK ON THE YELLOW LENS to add it to your inventory.
  64. Now CLICK ON THE PHARAOH in the lower right corner of your screen to take you back to the entrance. CLICK ON THE GENETIC DISK to warp back into the elevator room. Move FORWARD to the red wall and turn LEFT. Go FORWARD and turn LEFT toward the elevator.
  65. Move FORWARD to reach the elevator and then move FORWARD again to enter it. Turn LEFT OR RIGHT TWICE to face the elevator control panel and then PUSH THE DOWN BUTTON to get back down to the yellow level.
  66. Move FORWARD to exit the elevator and go FORWARD again into the next POD. Turn LEFT inside the POD and then move FORWARD TWICE through a small red hall and into the POD.
  67. Once in the next POD, turn RIGHT and go FORWARD through the leather-looking chamber. Move FORWARD again to enter the next POD and then turn LEFT.
  68. Move FORWARD through a series of V-shaped cloud formations and FORWARD into the next POD. Turn RIGHT and go FORWARD to pass through more strange rectangular clouds and FORWARD into the POD.
  69. Turn RIGHT in the POD and move FORWARD to approach a black cube with a symbol. CLICK ON THE SYMBOL to open the cube and you will find the golden lens holder. CLICK ON THE LENS HOLDER to get it.
  70. CLICK ON THE PHARAOH in the bottom right hand corner of your screen to take you back to the entrance. CLICK ON THE GENETIC DISK to warp back into the elevator room. Move FORWARD to the red wall and turn LEFT. Go FORWARD and turn LEFT toward the elevator.
  71. Move FORWARD to reach the elevator and then move FORWARD again to enter it. Turn LEFT OR RIGHT TWICE to face the elevator control panel and then PUSH THE DOWN BUTTON to get back down to the yellow level.
  72. Move FORWARD to exit the elevator and go FORWARD again into the next POD. Turn RIGHT and go FORWARD TWICE through a short red hall and into the next POD. Turn RIGHT and move FORWARD TWICE through the woods and into the next POD. Turn RIGHT in the POD.
  73. Move FORWARD TWICE through the sphere-laden passage and into the POD. Turn LEFT and go FORWARD TWICE through the bluish-glowing hall with the brick floor and into the next POD.
  74. Turn LEFT and go FORWARD TWICE through the next lighted passage with a dark tile floor and into the next POD. Turn LEFT in the POD and then move FORWARD to reach the bug art. CLICK ON THE BUG ART to warp to the chamber full of crystal stalactites.
  75. Move FORWARD to the first intersection and turn LEFT. Go FORWARD to the diamond platform at the end. Move FORWARD again to warp to the first POD of the blue-green level.
  76. Move FORWARD TWICE down a mineshaft and into the next POD. Turn LEFT and go FORWARD TWICE past the blue tile and to enter the next POD. Turn RIGHT and go FORWARD past the frozen purple waterfalls.
  77. Move FORWARD once more to go into the POD and then turn RIGHT. Go FORWARD and you will find the Pharaoh's Tomb. CLICK ON THE TOMB and the 3 lenses will be used to collect light and warp you back to the cloud room. Move FORWARD through the door and onto the catwalk.
  78. Turn LEFT and go FORWARD around the edge of the chamber to the railing. Turn RIGHT and move FORWARD to reach the center platform.
  79. As you approach the center platform a strange instrument will float down in front of you. CLICK ON THE FAR LEFT NOTE (the lowest tone) to receive the FINAL GOLDEN "VOYAGE" SYMBOL for the underground! You will see the symbol appear in front of you and then it will warp you out of the underground and back up to the canyon environment. The GOLDEN VOYAGE SYMBOL will be in position 3 at the bottom of your screen when you reach the canyon.
  80. Once your screen fades back up, you will be standing in front of the entrance to the underworld with your back facing the entrance door. Turn LEFT, then go FORWARD and then again LEFT. CLICK ON THE ARTIFACT there, which is another needed key.
  81. Turn RIGHT, go FORWARD 6 TIMES, then turn RIGHT. This symbol is the key for accessing the music of the CD. CLICK ON THE SYMBOL to take it.
  82. Turn LEFT then go FORWARD 4 TIMES. Reaching this point, move FORWARD to enter the next environment. Possession of the artifact that unlocks this environment allows access to the CREDITS of the production. CLICK ON THE ARTIFACT to view the CREDITS. After this, go BACK to turn around and the player can continue the adventure into many more environments.
  83. From here, you will go to several locations. Prepare to hear the music. Go FORWARD 9 TIMES.
  84. Here the trail splits. Straight ahead would take us on a new trail, while taking the far right would lead us back near the entrance to the underworld. But let's turn LEFT to hear the MUSIC. CLICK ON THE IMPRESSION OF THE ARTIFACT that is on the rock and access to the music of Welcome To The Future is granted. The music of WTTF is stored in the rock for those who come to enjoy this land. There is music found here that is hidden throughout the journey. Select the AWAY button to leave the music and re-enter the canyon world.
  85. Turn RIGHT and move FORWARD straight ahead on the left, for there is more to see. Turn LEFT. CLICK ON THE ARTIFACT: it is the key to feel the rhythm of the message. The player can go ahead to the door of the Electric Rain but, since you do not have the key, you will not be able to enter it. After finding the artifact that matches the impression, access will then be allowed.
  86. Turn RIGHT, then go FORWARD. Go FORWARD again, then turn LEFT, then FORWARD TWICE.
  87. Go FORWARD, then RIGHT, then FORWARD 8 TIMES. Then go BACK to turn around.
  88. At this point now the player should use the trail on the right side. So, on the right trail, go FORWARD TWICE, and then turn RIGHT.
  89. Possessing the key, CLICK ON THE IMPRRESSION ON THE ROCK and entrance is granted. Go FORWARD.
  90. GRAFITTI KEYS is a world with a message: the keys hold the secrets. Feel the rhythm and the message can be clear. CLICK ON ANY COMBINATION OF 6 KEYS AND/OR BALLS (listening to each of the 6 messages completely) in order to be offered another GOLDEN SYMBOL. The complete poetic song follows below.

    Think about the ancient ways
    Seems they had a lot to say
    No one knows how to read the signs
    Secrets lost to the sands of time

    Forget the why
    Forget the when
    Shadows in the corners of the minds of men
    When you realize
    Look up to the skies
    Prepare a place
    Soon they will be coming

    What the hell are you waiting for?
    Get yourself right through that door
    Something cries from the other side
    Something from which you cannot hide

    Who can tell where time begins?
    How do you know they're not your friends?
    Darkened eyes that reflect the moon
    Don't you know that they're coming soon

    CLICK ON THE GOLDEN SYMBOL to take it, and it will then be in the 6th position at the bottom of your screen. CLICK ON THE WORDS: GRAFFITI KEYS to Exit and then turn RIGHT and go FORWARD to return to the Canyons World. Back in the canyon, turn RIGHT then go FORWARD 4 TIMES.

  91. The player is now in the middle of several different trails that need to be explored. Turn LEFT, then go FORWARD. This trail leads the player in search of another artifact (for there are many more to find). Go FORWARD, turn LEFT, then FORWARD 3 TIMES.
  92. Looking up into the tree, you see an artifact hidden (leaving one more of the silver keys to find). CLICK ON THE KEY, then come down from the tree by going BACK ONCE.
  93. Go BACK again to turn around, then FORWARD 3 TIMES. Turn LEFT, then go FORWARD again. Turn RIGHT TWICE, then go FORWARD 4 TIMES. CLICK ON THE ARTIFACT and collect the key for the world: "A CAVE TO THE FUTURE". Go BACK to turn around, then FORWARD 4 TIMES.
  94. Turn LEFT to face the tree, then (with your cursor toward the right trail) go FORWARD TWICE. Then go BACK to turn around.
  95. Here are 2 more trails. Take the left trail and go FORWARD 4 TIMES, turn LEFT, then go FORWARD 3 MORE TIMES.
  96. Here the player is one location away from the entrance to the underworld, but we want to explore ELECTRIC RAIN, so go RIGHT then FORWARD. Then CLICK ON THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN ON THE RIGHT. Then CLICK ON THE SYMBOL.
  97. Possesing the key that matches the impression on the rock enables the player to experience this world. ELECTRIC RAIN is an ART and MUSIC piece that has full screen irridescent graphics mixed with a modern rock soundtrack. Go FORWARD. This screen enables the user to choose art pieces to view individually. CLICK ON THE GOLDEN SYMBOL that is offered to take it. It will then be in the 5th position at the bottom of your screen. To leave, CLICK ON THE EXIT BUTTONS.
  98. Go BACK to turn around, then turn LEFT and go FORWARD 6 TIMES. This location has a hidden trail branch on the left. So go LEFT, then FORWARD 3 TIMES. The trail deadends, but turn RIGHT to go into the cave, then go FORWARD 4 TIMES.
  99. Here is the CAVE TO THE FUTURE. CLICK ON THE IMPRESSION IN THE SKY and access will be granted. Experience full screen, vibrant, living ART and MUSIC throughout this world. Clicking will jump the user to the next musical piece. Select any of the art to view individually, for there is much to see. After completing this environment, the player is allowed to CLICK ON THE FINAL GOLDEN SYMBOL to take it. It will then appear in the 2nd position at the bottom of the screen. To leave, CLICK ON THE EXIT BUTTONS. Then go BACK to turn around.
  100. The player has collected all of the artifacts and is now ready for the final Voyage. Go FORWARD 4 TIMES, turn LEFT, then go FORWARD 3 TIMES. Here you can read the messages left behind by travelers who came before you.
  101. Turn LEFT, go FORWARD 3 TIMES, turn LEFT again, go FORWARD, and turn RIGHT. The Message at the entrance to the PHARAOH'S CAVE is carved into the rock guarding the cave. Go FORWARD.
  102. Here, hidden in his cave, the PHARAOH awaits YOU, to bring him the 6 GOLDEN SYMBOLS in order to begin the final VOYAGE. CLICK ON THE PHARAOH. The finale of the quest is a 5 1/2 minute movie entitled: THE VOYAGE.
