THE
FIRST BUTTON

Out of Time is starting here
From
this position you can see three inverted pyramids spinning around the central
structure. The fourth has collapsed when Natla triggered the structure in
motion. From a point of Geometry the four pyramids are the vertices of a square
(but only three remain) and the plane of rotation is perpendicular to the N-S
axis. Their rotation is in anti-clockwise sense seen from above.
Notice
a Health Potion by the edge.

Pick up the Health Potion
Walk
to the edge and jump to one of the floating pyramid platforms. Have a free ride
on the carrousel to observe a bit of the center of this strange device. Then
turn around and observe the outer circle.

Notice
a bell-like object with a ring on top lying on a platform. Have another round
seeing waterfalls, the Entrance to this room, a number of platforms and narrow
ledges... then when you reach the “bell” again jump to the platform.

Behind
the “bell” is a waterfall and there is nothing to do. Grapple on the ring
and step backwards to hang from the ledge.

Let go to the ledge below where a Health Potion is standing and swing to the ledge. This is an Autosave.

Slide down until you see the ledge below

Swing/jump to the platform
Suddenly
two Yeti’s jump onto the platform. Take care of them. Meantime Natla is
appearing and hanging from above sending fire balls at Lara. Then Yeti’s keep
and keep coming.

Lara
was knocked into the pool by one of Natla’s fireballs, died and restarted at
the Autosave point.
So
this is the best thing to do: quickly take the Health Potion after you landed on
the platform and go standing with your back against the wall from where you can
watch the Yeti’s appearing one by one from each ledge behind the front
pillars. This time Natla wasn’t there so I guess she is randomly appearing
with her fireballs when you’re on the move.

Look left and right for Yeti’s to
climb up
[NOTE:
the second time I played this part I knocked down over 30 Yeti’s that kept
appearing on each side until the Game froze. I guess the Game was designed as
such. If you keep standing on that ledge there is no end of Yeti’s trying to
climb up. I would suggest: knock down some 20 of them and then continue
forward].
Run/jump
to the lower rounded ledge between the two pillars and turn right.

Notice
a higher ledge in front of you. Jump to it and pull up. Run to your right to the
end where you will see a Rune in the alcove lighting up. The Yellow sign
appearing means that this Rune is interactive – like the ones in the previous
Sublevel. Needless to say that you will be attacked by numerous Yeti’s along
your way that you have to take care of.

Press
yellow (interactive) and Lara will grab the Rune. Press forward to slide the
panel inside. Now in a Cut Scene the camera is going up showing the result of
this action. Some kind of a blue lighted button appears in the middle of two big
cogs on a ledge above. Let’s call this the first button.

at the
button above
More
Yeti’s appear when you loosen the panel and turn around. Run to the end of the
walkway and jump to a lower ledge on your right. From there jump to a higher
ledge and pull up.

Turn to the higher ledge and jump to
it
On
your right there is a gap preventing you from reaching a second Rune on a panel.
[NOTE: more Yeti’s are also constantly appearing here]
Turn
around and on the other side of this walkway find a lower ledge on your
right. Jump to it.

Jump down to the ledge
Jump
to the higher ledge in front of you and run to the Rune on your right. Natla
will appear (in my Game but perhaps not in yours) shooting fireballs.

Push
the panel inside and once again, a Cut Scene starts with the camera going up to
a high ledge showing a lit button between two golden rings and huge cogs. This
is the second button.

Turn
around to the other end of the walkway and jump to the lower ledge on your
right. Then jump to the higher ledge in front and pull up.

There
are many Yeti’s to fight here too. Turn right and at the end find a Health
potion on a low rock.

Get the Health Potion
Behind
the low rock there are two high walls forming a shaft. This invites to a chimney
jump. Stand on the right wall and perform a 5-way chimney jump to a narrow ledge
high up on the left wall.

Shimmy right and make a sideward jump to the narrow ledge on your right.

right around the corner to the far end and jump to the higher narrow ledge.
Vault up to a next higher narrow ledge.

Shimmy left and side jump to the ledge on your right. Pull up and notice a ledge on your right.

Stand
on the corner on your right and diagonally face an L-shaped higher ledge.
Jump to it and pull up.

You
can either jump to a passing pyramid and jump off farther or simply turn right
and jump back to the ledge with the “bell” to reach your next destiny.

Run
past the “bell” until you meet a gap between two ledges.

across the gap and notice a building with a small rock in front of it. Run
towards the rock.

Proceed to the small rock
Ascend
the rock, turn left and jump to the higher ledge.

Pull
up and turn left to the corner where you find a Health Potion.

Pick up the Health Potion in the left
corner
Return
to the spot where you pulled up and turn left to the first button which
appears to be interactive. When you press yellow (interactive) Lara will destroy
the button with her Hammer.

Smash the button
In
a Cut Scene you will then see how then tilted support beam above this ledge
breaks into pieces causing more pyramids to fall into an orbit around the
central structure.
