THE
TIMED DOORS
Hop on your bike and park it under the pole, the front facing the arch. Leave a space between the bike and the wall enough to let Lara in between and check if she can walk through.

The pole, the ramp and the block

The correct position for your bike
seen from 2 perspectives
Grab
the block and pull/push it underneath the pole.

Grab the block

Move it in front of the bike
Both
objects are now ready for a fast and timed action.

The correct position for bike and block seen from 2 perspectives
Remember
the second wall/door I asked your attention for? Well, it is at the end of the
path the bike is directed to.
Jump
to the block and from the block to the pole. Lara’s weight will lower the pole
causing the door to open at the moment the pole is at its lowest. When the pole is at its
lowest Lara will drop to the floor automatically.
First
watch how the camera will forward to the door that is rising allowing you enter
to a room behind.

A camera view shows how the door is rising
Wait
for a while and repeat this. Understand well: the door is timed and starts
slowly rising as soon as Lara drops to the floor. It only stays open for a few
seconds and then lowers again at the same speed. Before the Cut Scene starts
immediately press yellow to hop on the bike and start driving.

Jump to the block

From the block to the pole

Hop on the bike when on the floor
Drive
straight and boost up through the arch, over the ramps and into the room before
the door lowers again. Get off the bike and shoot the numerous small spiders.

Over the ramps

Straight to the open room

Inside!
Take
Treasure #21 lying on the floor and The Health Potion in the corner.

Treasure #21 on the floor

The Health Potion in the corner
Left
of the now reclosed door is a lever. Pull the lever for the door to permanently
open.

Pull the lever

The door will rise
Return
with your bike to the “T” and park it next to the pole lying on the ground.
On the left wall of the path a golden hole is seen on the wall above a rail.
Obviously the pole has to fit into that hole!
Move
the block under the hole.

The pole and the golden hole in the wall

Move the block under the hole
Pick
up the pole and climb with it on the block. Stick the pole into the hole and the
pole will lower down until Lara’s feet touch the block. She’ll release the
pole and it will rise again.

Pick up the pole and jump to the block

The pole will lower down for a part and
rise again
So obviously we must do the same thing here again: move the block from the wall far enough to position the bike and the block like we did under the other pole. Move the block away from the wall and drive the bike in between the block and the wall leaving Lara enough space left to lower the pole fully down.

The correct positions of bike and block seen from two perspectives
Jump
to the block and then to the pole which will lower until the end and Lara will
drop to the floor. You’ll hear a heavy click because the first timed wall/door
I took your attention to will unlock to start rising.

Jump to the rock

From the rock to the
pole

Hop on your bike when touching the
floor
This
timed door is on the left side of the “T” by the entrance Gate. We are on
the right side here. So this is going to be a long run full of bends, Arches,
rocks and ramps – and you'll have to drive FAST. On straight stretches you can boost
up with LB, but be careful at the 90 degree bends. When you have to turn right
drive all the way left to take the largest curve in order to maintain speed.
Since
we’ve been there before, these are the directions:
-
straightforward
under the Arch
-
over
the ramps
-
right
(in front of the opened door of Treasure #21)
-
drive
through the left gap at the rock formation (not up the ramp)
-
right
-
left,
pass the ramp upwards
-
right,
behind the ramp
-
straightforward
past the “T” by the Gate (boost here)
- right, pass the ramp downwards under the Arch
-
left
after the narrow opening
-
drive
into the room behind the door
So
when you release the pole immediately start your bike and drive straight through
the Arch. On this stretch drive over the ramps and stay left.

Keep going straight
under the Arch like before

Stay left of the ramps when crossing
the gap

Go right, avoiding rocks on both sides

Drive diagonally to the opening on the left of the road block

Drive through the narrow opening on
the left and stay left

Take a wide bend to the right

And short after that to the left

Straight up the ramp keeping left

Turn right

This is the long stretch past the Gate

Turn right

From the ramp

Left through the narrow opening

Straight into the room

Right on time!
In
case you’re too late and the door has closed you will get attacked by two or
three Zombies. Best is to dismount from the bike and stomp them to dead here
before you return and try the hellish ride again.
Once
inside dark the room turn on your flashlight and find the Relic of this level lying on the floor. In the corner take a Health
Potion.

Take the Relic from the floor

The Health Potion in the corner
Then
pull the lever and the door will permanently slide open. Turn right to see it
happening.

Pull the lever

The door slides
open
Return
on your bike to the “T” between the two poles where you started the last two
times races. Leave the motorcycle at the “T” and dismount. Walk into the
short hallway between the two poles.

Stop here and dismount

Walk towards the blocks
Look
at the pile of rocks: on your right is an elongated niche where you can perform
a chimney jump. Turn your back to the right wall.

Prepare the chimney jump

First jump to the left wall

Second jump to the ledge on the right
wall
Pull
up and turn around. Stand in the corner facing the opening where you already see
a Zombie on the bridge outside. Jump to the ledge a bit on your right. From this
ledge you see there are two Zombies on the bridge.

Pull up

Turn around

Jump from the corner to the opposite
ledge
You
can’t reach them from here with your pistols. Jump down two steps and the
first Zombie will come running to Lara. Keep shooting to weaken him down and when
he reaches the depression a few stomps are sufficient to spread around his
bones.
Then
walk up the short ramp and hear the ping of an Autosave.

Shoot the Zombie

The spot of the Autosave
I
would suggest to save your Game here too.
[NOTE: Since I play every Level twice (with screenshots) I select the best of
both. But when replaying this Level I neglected to choose the Snow Light outfit
and took the Snow Heavy outfit . Usually the best screenshots are taken the
second time because you already know the locations. So in this Part you will
notice screenshots that are with Light or Heavy outfit. At the end the best were
the ones with the Heavy outfit, so from here on you will see Lara in her Snow
Heavy outfit. But that’s OK, this way you’ll enjoy Lara more with a variety
of outfits]
