THE CAVERN
Part
2
HEALING THE CAVERN
You
go left into the corrupted Cavern.
Jump to the standing broken column and jump backwards to a ledge.

From the column to the ledge
Pass
two columns to reach the opposite ledge

Pass two columns
Now
jump to a hanging column and climb up. Jump backwards to a higher ledge.

To a higher ledge
Use
the next column to jump to a following ledge.

Jump backwards to the ledge
Jump
past two columns to the next ledge.

Wall run left and jump off to the column
Turn
your back towards the final edge and jump off.

Jump backwards to the ledge

A tower with wooden supports
Climb
all the way up this tower in two steps. First jump to the narrow ledge and climb
up.

Climb your way up to the higher ledge
Elika:
It’s part of the
Prince:
You live here? Just you and your Father?
Elika: Most of the people who remained
lived here. First the Vale was abandoned, the Citadel fell into decay, then the
City fell into decay, then the City emptied, only the Palace remained.
Prince: Spooky place for only a few
people.
Elika:
It’s not Ghosts we’ll find here.
It’s illusions. The Concubine will be waiting for us.
A
second conversation brings light on the Palace and the Concubine.

Where exactly are we going?
Elika: This
place is the back of the back of beyond.
Prince: Anyone else is going to try
and kill us? Don’t panic, Princess. We can get through this. How did we get
across here?
Elika: The Corruption must have taken
the bridges that were here. We’ll have to go the hard way.
Prince: What was this? Your wine
cellar?
Elika: The Cavern was here before the
City was built. After the Palace was complete they sometimes used this space for
Royal Performances. Music, Plays, great Thinkers, Magical Words, all were once
heard here.
Prince: I’ve never been to a
Performance, never seen a Play.
[NOTE:
Is this dude really a Prince or an imposter?]
Elika: They’re full of Adventures,
Stories and Ideas. Dreams of what people can be.
Prince: There’s a whole world of
Adventures out there, Princess. You should spend more time with those than in
here imagining them.
[NOTE: He probably is referring to his own company...]
I
do like a good Story, but if the only place you saw the outside world was here...
Elika:
Ideas are important.
Prince: Ideas are only as strong as
the sword they hold.
Elika: Not everything can be fixed by
hitting with a sword.
Prince: True, but you can fix
everything else with a lot of money or a little love. You can “think” about
locking Ahriman away but unless we use a sword as well he escapes.
Elika: And without reason and courage
to guide that sword then all will die and be laid to waste.
Prince: The Concubine sold her Soul to
Ahriman like the other Corrupted?
Elika: No one knows who she really
was. I don’t know if even she does. Ahriman gave her the Power of Illusion.
She could become who she wanted to be. Make people believe whatever she wanted
them to believe.
Prince: Can you cast Illusions? If the
Concubine can...?
Elika: I don't
know. These
“Powers” are growing and changing. I don’t know what I will be able to do.
Or if they’ll just stop.
Prince: They won’t stop. Ormazd, if
you’re out there...
Don’t let them stop. If you and the Concubine can both use Magic...
Elika:
My Powers come from Ormazd. Hers from
Ahriman. We have nothing in common.
Prince: If there is any chance your
writings will tell us how to spot one of the Concubine’s Illusions?
Elika: The only method is to break the
Illusion. Literally break it through contact. But even that isn’t foolproof.
Ask
Elika to launch a flare and notice it goes past the two poles and then turns
right through the hanging poles on your right.

Elika’s light flair
Jump
past the two poles to a hanging column. Reach the second column with Elika’s
help.

Reaching the second hanging column
Jump backwards to the ledge.
Elika:
The Fertile Ground is below us. The
bridges that linked the platforms are gone.
Prince: We’ll have to use those roof
columns to get across and then drop down.

Turn right towards the roof columns
Run
to the protruding beam and jump to the opposite column.

Hanging from the first column
Jump
backwards to the second column which seems an Illusion. Both the Prince and
Elika drop down to the corrupted Fertile Ground.

A fake column
The
Fertile Ground is clear, Princess?
But something is going on with Elika. She is getting trapped in a black evil shadow holding her in a grip:

I can’t move. It’s the Concubine.
She – ah, ahhhh...
The
Concubine is standing high up on a balcony and watches her cruel action.

Oh, does it hurt? Let me help you to
relieve the pain

Let’s sell this gracious Concubine to the highest bidder?
Prince:
Hang in there. I’ll stop her.
Concubine: Well, what we have here? A
Princess and her little man. Two lost little wanderers. No idea where they are
going, or why they are here.
Run
around the Ground until you find a protruding beam and jump from the end to the
opposite column.

Walk to the end of the protruding beam

Jump forward to the column
Climb
all the way up and jump backwards to a high ledge.

Climb up

Jump to the ledge
Pull
up and turn right. Jump to a narrow wall.

Turn right

Jump to the narrow wall
Jump
to the next ledge and to the first pole.

Jump to the next ledge

Hanging from the first pole
Jump
to the second pole and from there to the left wall where you do a wall run and
jump off ending on the ledge with the Concubine.

From the second pole to the ledge
Stab
the Concubine with blue and she will disappear to a ledge opposite to the
Ground. This image of the Concubine was an Illusion of hers!

The Concubine moved to the opposite side
C’bine: Tut,
tut, so willful, so destructive. Do you break everything you find? Try again,
little man. Lost. Lost in the desert, walking with purpose, yet lost all the
same. What guides you then, little man? Who are you? Prince or Pauper? Thief,
Nobleman, Merchant of assassin? You don’t know do you?
[NOTE: Good question! I still don’t know that either...]
Prince
or Pauper... the brave little man doesn’t give up though. Stand on the edge of
the protruding beam and jump back to the Ground.

Jump from the beam’s edge to the Ground
Climb
the column again from the protruding beam and jump to the high ledge, but this
time turn left and notice some sloping platforms leading to the Concubine's
current ledge.

Turn left and notice the slopes
Slide
and jump from slope to slope until you end up at the Concubine’s ledge.

Jump and slide from the first slope

At the end of your ride jump to the second slope

Finally jump to the Concubine’s ledge
Stab
the Concubine with blue and she will vanish again.
Concubine:
Awww, I was over here all the time...
I’m sorry for your wasted effort. Are you leaving her to her fate? Don’t you
want to be together in her hour of need? Stay on your stage, little man,
everything you do is make believe. There is no difference you can make.
But...
our “little man’ gets a little nervous now. He stands on the edge of the
protruding beam and jumps down to the Ground.

The Prince jumps down again
Walk
around the Ground until you notice a ring on a wall.

The ring on the wall
Stand
on the edge of the protruding beam, jump to the column, climb up, jump up to the
ring and use it to climb up to the high ledge and turn left.

Stand on the edge of the beam

Jump to the column and climb up

Jump up to the ring

Climb up to the higher ledge and turn left
Notice
a sloping ledge. Jump to the slope and at the end of your ride jump from pole to
pole.

Slide from the slope

Jump to the first pole

Hang from the second pole
Jump
from the pole to a next slope and at the end of your ride jump to a ledge above
the ground where the real Concubine is now standing with Elika still strapped in
agony.

Jump from the pole to the slope

End up on a ledge above the Ground
Concubine:
That’s the thing with life. It’s so
confusing. You think you know where you are then...

AHHHH
The
arrogant Creep goes on: Everything
changes. You crave her don’t you? But all she has in her heart is purpose...
she serves her people, she serves Ormazd, she has no space left in her for you.
The
Prince jumps down to the Ground for the battle with the Concubine. The Zombie
bitch has now to concentrate on the angry Prince and has to release Elika. Now
Elika can assist the Prince with his battle.

The Prince jumps down

The Concubine had to release Elika
Concubine:
Another man falls to me.
[NOTE: That may be quite an understatement!]
Mostly
attack the Concubine with a jump over (green) followed by combos like blue-blue-blue,
yellow-red-blue and your usual Deflect maneuvers. Remember
she can hull herself in black and increase her Health meter as well as the
previous Bosses.

A combined attack

The C’bine is healing

A double attack from above

The final stroke
She
has been defeated – or so it seems.

Well, it’s been entertaining, but...
Prince:
Raaaaaa! Please tell me there’s a way to
get rid of her permanently.
Elika: When we imprison Ahriman for
good, or if we enter the Palace Rooms beyond the Black Gate.
Tap
yellow repeatedly when Elika is under the blue beam to heal the Fertile
Ground.

Tap yellow repeatedly to start the healing process
It
is always a wonderful sight in this Game to watch the transformation from a
barren, corrupted Ground to the lush greenery of a Fertile Ground:

The Fertile Ground is getting healed
As
always, Elika is exhausted after the healing.

Can you stand?
Never
saw myself as appearing on a stage. I’d like to thank you for coming to
tonight’s special performance of “Death of a Concubine”.
Elika:
She’s not dead.
Prince: Ugh...
I can dream. I thought that’s what stages were for?

If you don’t dream you will never be
more than you are
And
if you don’t wake up, dreaming’s all you’ll ever do.
Elika:
Let’s go to the next Fertile Ground.
But
first we have to hunt for The Cavern’s Light Seeds before proceeding to
another Fertile Ground.
